"The Fair of Cappaghwhite........"

Awoke here in the Glen of Aherlow to the news of a severe weather warning for Tipperary. Nevertheless onward and upward was the cry- leading today was Mike and were joined by Dick from Clonmel.
Being soft underfoot we sang and laughed our way along and strutted through Tipp town at 11.00am, a brief interlude for water and soon on the road again. Mary Heffernan's pub in Donohill was next stop and her kindness and hospitality together with the craic and the laughs made for a memorable lunch.
Cappaghwhite was the goal and we arrived at 4.30pm and Dick and Mike headed back
I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as bad weather but bad clothing. Thanks to Mary in Birr I was well decked out and with wonderful walking companions, Mike Moroney larger than life, generosity of spirit, wonderful sense of humor and friendliness allied with expertise and experience on the great mountain walks of our world together with Dick whose zest for life and infectious interest in
us all made for a perfect day walking.
